Voteless People is a Hopeless People
On Wednesday October 12, 2016 the brothers of The Xi Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the women of The Pi Mu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. worked together to get people registered to vote for the 2016 election. Students of Longwood University stopped by to ask questions; register to vote; and register for an absentee ballot. The College Democrats, as well as women from The Lambda Delta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., also volunteered their time to make sure students were registered to vote. Thank you for all of those that volunteered, because this wouldn't have been possible without everyones help.

Longwood University's Meet the Greeks
On Tuesday September 6, 2016 Longwood University held their annual Involvement Fair and Meet the Greeks program. The brothers of Xi Zeta were there representing Alpha Phi Alpha in a very positive manner. Men and women of Longwood University stopped by to ask questions and learn more about Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Longwood University also displayed a perfect example of Greek Unity, as other organizations of the National Pan-Hellenic Council decided to step and stroll, to show the class of 2020 what we can do. We would like to thank the organizations of the Inter-Fraternity Council and Collegiate Panhellenic Council for supporting us during the Meet the Greeks program. Longwood University may be a small school, but greek life keeps the campus thriving and greek unity runs deep in Longwood's history.

Xi Z Walking for Peace
On Wednesday August 31, 2016 the Prince Edward County community came together to walk for a more peaceful future, as they walked Main St. in Farmville, Va. This was the same street that protesters for integration of the Prince Edward County School System took place in 1963. Participants met at First Baptist Church on Main St. and walked to the Moton Museum, where a panel discussion was held. The program was called "Am I next: Debunking Stereotypes" and was organized by Karima ElMadany, a Longwood University Alumna as well as an Alumna of the Lambda Delta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Hakeem Croom, an assistant dean of Students at Hampden-Sydney College. Two brothers from Xi Zeta were there to stand up for what they felt was right and just. Brother Jonathan Bland and Brother Alton Coleman marched with members from the Phi Omicron Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., the Pi Mu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the Alpha Alpha Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. These brothers also met several leaders of the Prince Edward County community as well as men from the Minority Student Union at Hampden-Sydney College.
